The Power of Buddha Bowls

If you’ve been on Instagram lately, chances are you’ve come across a buddha bowl or two scrolling through your newsfeed. Buddha bowls (aka hippie bowls or glory bowls) can be defined as hearty, filling bowls filled with various greens, raw or roasted veggies, legumes, healthy grains such as quinoa or brown rice and for some extra flavour and texture, they are often topped with nuts, seeds and delicious dressings. 

I am a massive fan of buddha bowls for a number of reasons, they are super delicious, fun to make and tick a large number of nutrient boxes. More often than not, they contain good fats, complex carbohydrates and protein which is what we should be trying to aim for in every meal.

Below is a bowl I created that is filled with red cabbage, tofu, corn, carrot, chickpeas, roast pumpkin, pumpkin seeds and avocado on a bed of cauliflower rice with some extra virgin olive oil drizzled generously over the top. To say that I was satisfied after this meal would be an understatement.
